- Soybeans in Rowan county were scouted and observed 25% of the field was affected by browning, reddening and yellowing, marginal, leaf spot, spots and symptoms are widespread. The site is dry and sunny.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified as Bacterial blight. It is favored by cool, wet weather and is inhibited by hot, dry weather. The disease is not usually significant in yield but can cause substantial losses when susceptible cultivars are grown under unfavorable conditions. Monitoring for bacterial blight is advised, especially when using susceptible cultivars.
