Fusarium root rot

Background
Soybeans in Johnston county, variety Group 65?, were scouted and observed with 30% of the field affected by dieback and wilting in patches in the field. The field was sprayed with fierce preemergence followed by xtend 2 weeks after.
Conclusion
The issue was identified as Fusarium root rot. This disease is caused by Fusarium sp. Fusarium root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings.
