- Soybeans in Rowan county were scouted and observed 25% of the field was affected by browning, reddening and yellowing, marginal, leaf spot, spots and symptoms are widespread. The site is dry and sunny.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified as Rhizoctonia stem rot. These fungi can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings. Rhizoctonia prefer warm and moist soil conditions.
