- A tobacco field that was transplanted on April 7th was being scouted, and it was observed that lower plant leaves were dried up and leaf margins were burned. Also, some of the plants had lost turgidity, and others were completely dried up. The field is mostly Norfol and Goldsboro soil, with some Wagram soil. There is concern for soluble salt injury. A sample was submitted to the PDIC for diagnosis.

- The issue was identified as heat stress. High temperatures can accelerate leaf deterioration in tobacco, with sun scald occurring due to wilting, moisture loss, and root damage.
