Low pH, Nutrient imbalance

- A soybean field, variety Asgrow 6.6, in Greene County was being scouted, and it was observed that the field was affected by canker and stinting in patches across the field. The field is a wet site. A sample was submitted to the PDIC for diagnosis.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified as a low soil pH. Low pH has been known to negatively affect soybean growth. Liming is recommended if soil pH is below recommended levels. Lime is most effective when applied at least three months before planting.
