Abiotic stress

scouted May 20, 2025

Background
A corn sample at V8 growth stage from Alamance county was submitted to the Plant Disease and Insect clinic with slight insect damage, leaf folding and stunting.
Conclusion
The leaves showed Thrips damage, but the roots did not seem affected by corn rootworm therefore not causing the stunting. In conclusion the most likely cause of the stunting and the leaf folding is other environmental factors
