Fusarium crown rot

Background
Soybeans in Columbus county were scouted and observed 10% of the field was affected by stunting and speckling and stippling in the leaves, in random areas of the field. Whole field stunted and patchy emergence.
Conclusion
The issue identified was Fusarium crown rot. Fusarium sp. can cause soybean seedling diseases, especially with wet conditions shortly after planting. These are more prevalent in poorly drained or compacted soils. Improving soil drainage may reduce stress and risk of infection.
