- Soybeans in Person county, variety P59A1, were scouted and it was observed that 80% of the field was affected by cracks, scorch, browning, and stunting. Aphids were found on 12.5% of the plants. Substantial deer damage on the plants and a slow growth rate has been observed.

- The issue was identified as Fusarium root rot. This disease is caused by Fusarium sp. Fusarium root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings.
