Low pH, nutrient imbalance

- A soybean field in Moore County was being scouted, and it was observed that 40% of the field was affected by marginal yellowing, stunting, and wilting in random patches. There is suspected iron deficiency. The field is a dry and sunny site. A sample was submitted to the PDIC for diagnosis.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified a low soil pH. Low pH has been known to negatively affects soybean growth. Liming is recommended if soil pH is below recommended levels. Lime is most effective when applied at least three months prior to planting.
