Soybeans in Hyde county were scouted by grower and 15% of the field was affected by stunting, light green and yellowing plants as well as mottled leaves with brown lesions. A sample was submitted to the PDIC.
Conclusion
Root knot nematodes were identified as part of the issue. High populations levels of root knot nematodes present symptoms of non-uniform stunting, wilting, and chlorotic patches as well as increased likelihood of disease complex with other soilborne pathogens as well as a hindrance to water and nutrient uptake.
