Fusarium root rot

Background
Soybeans in Sampson county were scouted and observed 15% of the field was affected by damping off, defoliation, dieback, bleached browning, yellowing, and the patches are widespread. Many of the plants have died earlier in the growing season. The plants left within the affected areas are stunted.
Conclusion
The issue was identified as Fusarium root rot. This disease is caused by Fusarium sp. Fusarium root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings.
