Background
Soybeans in Duplin county, variety AG52XF0 MG 5, were sampled. This sample is he 3rd sampling 4 weeks after foliage fungicide application.
Conclusion
The issue was identifies as Phoma leaf spot. Phoma leaf spot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings. Prevalence tends to increase in warm and moist, but not saturated soils. Phoma leaf spot is not common in soybeans and can be treated with fungicides.
