Dicamba herbicide drift

scouted Aug. 22, 2023

Scientific Name
Abiotic
Background
Soybeans in Rowan county were scouted and observed 50% of the field affected by leaf spots, in random areas. New growth on the plants were curled shriveled. The older leaves seem unharmed. Some leaf spots were noticed. The pods don't seem to be bothered.
Conclusion
Dicamba is an active ingredient in some agricultural herbicide chemicals. Enlist soybean varieties are sensitive to dicamba and can be injured by herbicide products that contain it. There is a greater chance for soybeans to recover when affected in vegetative stages. However, once reproductive stages start, that chance decreases and yield can be negatively affected.
