- Soybeans in Cumberland county, variety Asgrow brand, possibly 56X8, were scouted and observed 10% of the field was affected widespread by cracks, browning, gum/slime/ooze/wet wood, malformation. root rot, and stunting. This is a wet site. The previous year corn was planted, those plants also had problems.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified as Fusarium root rot. This disease is caused by Fusarium sp. Fusarium root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings.
