- Soybeans in Johnston county were scouted and it was observed that 10% of field was affected by yellowing between the veins and wilting in patches across the field. The site was wet.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified as Rhizoctonia root rot. This disease is caused by Rhizoctonia sp. Rhizoctonia root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings. Prevalence tends to increase in warm and moist, but not saturated soils.
