A tobacco greenhouse (variety NC197) was being scouted, and it was observed that 50% of the greenhouse was affected by different germination rates and slight cupping on some of the seedling leaves. A sample was submitted to the PDIC to rule out disease.
Conclusion
The issue was identified as an abiotic disorder, possibly related to tray reuse, particularly due to cleaning agents or trace chemical contaminants in the trays from previous use.
