- Soybeans in Pasquotank county, variety Pioneer P48A60, were scouted and observed 100% of the field was affected by marginal yellowing. The site is high area. In the last 10-14 days the soybeans have developed marginal chlorosis, but also have brown lesions mostly on the lower leaves. Dry conditions for several weeks followed by major rains. No fertilizer was used.

- The issue was identified as Soybean brown spot. The brown lesions observed were brown spot of soybeans, also known as septoria brown spot, due to its causal agent. Symptoms for septoria brown spot include light to dark brown necrotic regions usually surrounded by chlorosis. Defoliation can occur in severe cases.
