A tobacco field was being scouted, and it was observed that 40% of the field was affected by leaf stops in random areas of the field. A sample was submitted to the PDIC for diagnosis.
Conclusion
The issue was identified as phytotoxicity from a recent fungicide application, particularly if applied under unfavorable environmental conditions. In addition, the high temperatures experienced recently could have contributed to leaf injury or intensified the effects of the chemical treatment.
