- Soybeans in Union county, variety Multiple Asgrow Maturity, were scouted and observed with 40% of the field affected by damping off, dieback, yellowing, and scorch/burn throughout the field. The site is dry.
- Conclusion
- The issue was identified as charcoal rot of soybean, caused by Macrophomina phaseolina. It starts out with patches of stunted or wilted plants, while the infection can happen very early in the season, the symptoms usually appear after flowering.
