Herbicide injury

scouted Aug. 26, 2021

Scientific Name
Abiotic
Background
Soybeans in Robeson county, variety P53A67X, were scouted and observed with 40% of the field being affected by dieback, malformation, and stunting. The effects were focussed in the lower wetter spots of the field alongside litter pile locations. The site is low and wet.
Conclusion
The issue was identified as herbicide injury. Damage as a result of herbicides can result from off-target movement, excess doses, contaminated soil, or the use of the wrong herbicide for the site or crop. Environmental conditions such as cold and wet soil can also increase the potential for soybean injury.
