Soybeans in Rowan county, variety AG 59XF0, were scouted and it was observed that 70% of the field was affected by blight, and defoliation. The site is widespread and dry.
Conclusion
This issue was identified as Fusarium stem rot, which is caused by various Fusarium species. These species prefer cooler temperatures and wet soil in the early growing season. Soybean root-knot nematodes and Soybean cyst nematodes enhance the Fusarium infection. To prevent infection plant in well draining soil.
