A sample of soybean seedling from Perquimans county was delivered to the Plant Disease and Insect Clinic with slight arthropod pests and damage as well as some root discoloration.
Conclusion
The seedling sample had low to moderate densities of thrips and their associated damage. The dark blemishes on the leaves appear to be mostly leaf miner fly (Agromyzidae) mines, all of which were empty or contained dead larvae. Minor chewing damage from beetles or caterpillars was also present on the foliage. Fusarium was recovered from some root samples, while others had both Fusarium and Pythium.
