- Soybeans in Martin county were scouted and observed 25% of field was affected by dieback, browning and yellowing, root rot, stem rot and wilting, in patches. Soybeans are dying in spots of the field. Soybeans are wilting, turning yellow and brown and dying out. These fields are a rotated well with cotton, peanuts and corn. The growing conditions were below normal temperatures and below normal rainfall.

- The issue was identified as Fusarium root rot. This disease is caused by Fusarium sp. Fusarium root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings. Prevalence tends to increase in warm and moist, but not saturated soils.
