Corn was being scouted in Durham county and it was observed the 10% of the plants in the greenhouse was affted by bulleye leions on the leaves. The corn was grown under light in a flood table.
Conclusion
The cause for this was found out to be zinc deficiency. The symptoms is first seen in the oldest leaves which is pale or yellowish green later it turns into inverted V or spear shaped discoloration from tip of leaf all the way towards the leaf base. The symptoms can make its way from older to newer leaves. The inverted V can exhibit necrosis.
