Fusarium root rot

Background
Edamame soybeans in Johnston county, variety MS6975XF, were scouted and it was observed that 50% of the field is affected by damping off, dieback, and blackening in a mottled pattern, which was widespread.
Conclusion
The issue was identified as Fusarium root rot. This disease is caused by Fusarium sp. Fusarium root rot can result in both pre- and post-emergence damping-off, leading to delayed emergence and stunting of infected seedlings.
