Curvularia leaf spot

- Corn was scouted in Chowan county, and spots were observed in the leaves. A sample was submitted to the PDIC for diagnosis.
- Conclusion
- The cause for the spots was diagnosed as Curvularia leaf spot. Curvularia leaf spot is caused by a fungus. It's lesions tend to occur on corn leaves following rain during reproductive maturity. In the U.S., it's considered mostly an aesthetic issue than a yield limiting disease.
