- Background
- Soybeans that were planted on May 7th, then were re-planted on May 24th, were having issues with being severely stunted, an also have shown signs of damping off, reddening, root rot, stem rot and stubby root at a 100% incidence. The field has a lot of deer pressure and excessive rainfall since May 7th. A sample was submitted to the PDIC for diagnosis.

- Conclusion
- Three different microorganisms were identified by the clinic : Fusarium sp., causing crown rot, Rhizoctonia sp. and Pythium sp. which could be causing the damping off. Although for the high levels of incidence, it's also more likely to be a combination of these microorganisms and environmental stress and nutrient imbalance.
